Course Description
The Elementary First Aid On Board Ship Course is designed for Seafarers and those working offshore to meet STCW A-VI/1-3 requirements. Approved by the Maritime Port Authority (MPA), this course equips participants with the skills to apply immediate basic first aid during accidents or illnesses on board ship.The level of knowledge covered enables the participant to take the immediate effective action for emergencies that occur on offshore stations and on board offshore vessels.
Hands-on stations with topics covered include:
* Dealing with an emergency
* Priorities of treatment
* Casualty transport
* CPR and AED
* Shock management
* Bandaging
* Bleeding Wounds
* Fractures
* Burns
Who Should Attend
The course is ideal for seafarers and prospective seafarers at any level and should be completed prior to off-shore employment.
